Disuse

According to the study by Harvard Medical School “Sex and the prostate,” healthy erections are one of those things that “are used or lost.” The authors realized that “some research suggests that when the penis is flaccid for long periods of time, and therefore deprived of a large amount of oxygen-rich blood, that low oxygen level causes some muscle cells to lose their flexibility and gradually transform into something resembling scar tissue. This tissue seems to interfere with the ability of the penis to expand when it is full of blood. ”

Although this study does not prescribe an ideal masturbation regimen, a subsequent Harvard study found that men who ejaculated twenty-one times a month were less likely to develop prostate cancer.

Drinking a lot

Not only do you end up with a beer belly, but, according to a study published in the Strength and Conditioning Journal, consuming the equivalent of five or more drinks seems to suppress the production of testosterone, which will affect your erections. That said, small amounts of alcohol (one or two drinks per day) seem to have little or no immediate effect on testosterone. During the eight-week study, 31 percent of participants who had quit had fuller erections than before. In addition, 75 percent of those who stopped smoking and had erectile dysfunction at the beginning of the study, no longer had it at the end of it.

Trimming

A better look helps you to function in the best possible way. This is true in other areas of your life and is just as true, if not more so, when you practice sex.
